Lanzarote Holidays - Discover the Beauty

Thinking about a family vacation? If you are like many Americans, you've dialed back your vacation plans for the summer in response to the sluggish economy. Keep your vacation simple this year and you can plan a bigger one for next year. You might consider Canary Island holidays, especially if you've never been before. The Canary Islands are beautiful and exotic; no two are exactly the same. The eastern island of Lanzarote is volcanic paradise.

Lanzarote holidays can be anything your family wants. There is shopping, swimming and surfing. There are museums and art galleries, vineyards and yes, volcanoes to explore. Depending on how old your children are and what things you and your family like to do, this could become your favorite destination for family holidays. Lanzarote is known for its natural beauty. So you might spend a few days just exploring the island. It's about 300 square miles, so big enough to have variety and not so big that you cannot have a day trip anywhere you want.

There are tons of resorts on the island, so Lanzarote holiday packages are popular. All the resorts have a good mix of age groups. It's very common to see multi-generation families on vacation in Lanzarote. The resorts can be a great source of cheap Lanzarote holidays because they often have last minute cancellations and will want to fill up that room. Last minute Lanzarote holidays might not be ideal for an American family since the plane ride is so long. Such spur of the moment decisions might be best left to Europeans - for them Lanzarote is an easy 2-3 hour plane ride, as opposed to our 12 hour.

Whatever you decide to do and wherever you decide to stay, you will find lots of friendly people, great food and beautiful scenery. The volcano park --Timanfaya National Park -- is a once in a lifetime experience. Yes, other places have volcanoes but the park does a great job of getting you close to the ground and letting you explore the area fully. They are very careful to protect the fragile environment so the park is not unrestricted, but you do not feel hemmed in while there. Lanzarote truly is an island paradise. Do your self and your family a favor and discover Lanzarote.
